Just curious but what is the WOT shift mph for 4th and 5th gear on the 3.92 8 speed trucks?

Also what do you guys see in shift recovery on each gear?

What do you mean by shift recovery?

When at full throttle the next gear change will recover at "x" Rpms. So for example, my truck with 3.21s going WOT from 3rd to 4th will recover into fourth gear around 4500rpms.

The RPM is higher, but to be honest, I'm not exactly sure where the RPM is shifting into 4th and 5th. I don't get the opportunity to stay on WOT that long most of the time. But as the internal transmission gear ratio's are the same, and the difference is the axle ratio, the 3.92 will have a higher RPM upon gear change than the 3.21. You could use a gear ratio calculator online to figure the exact numbers you're looking for.

Hey Kotta, try this link-
Speed/RPM Calculator
You'll have to punch in your tire size and the trans gear ratios., 100 rpm increments...
I used it when choosing a tire size/R&P for my 3G 6 speed stick truck, the shift recovery is bang on

As for MPH, it's going to depend on the wheels and tires you have.

Anyways, I'm getting a good deal on factory 3.92 gears and I am most likely going to graph them and have them installed at a local dealer for under the table pricing. I can't tell you guys how much the 3.21s in this truck scoot in the city and highway. I know the 3.92s will be better for acceleration overall, just curious on other parameters it changes.

It seems like around a highway speed 65mph, my 3.21 truck will downshift to 3rd if I smash the throttle. But the 3.92 truck will downshift to 4th. Even with a mechanical advantage of the 3.92s I think the 3.21 truck will pull away? Am I wrong?
