If you make much more power I'm going to be angry, with the MPG numbers you can achieve. Best of both worlds!

Ha be happy you don't have the older 4.7l engine. The new version is a beast!

It may be easier to list what you have tried.
But have you looked into a tuner? They seem to give the best gains for the cost. Cold air intake, exhaust, ported tb all seem to work together for some decent gains especially with a tuner.

Superchips Flashpaq programmer, 4.56 gears, tq converter, and 78mm ported throttle body will let you run with most hemi trucks.

You could always supercharge it! That's what I did to mine.

I definitely get more power when I want it and it really didn't affect my economy at all.

It is however the more expensive choice, so might not be the best for you.

I'm curious,tell us more Walter.
It's been in the back of my mind to look into a blower for my 4.7.

What brand of supercharger ??

Its a Paxton unit. I bought it as a complete kit for the year and engine size of the truck. I installed the system myself, it took me about a day and a half to get it done. It wasn't to difficult to do. I had an issue with some of the wiring on the control module, installation instructions showed one thing, unit had something different. Paxton was really good about helping to get it resolved though, and even had to send a new unit because the one that came with the package was defective. The unit has performed great, you can really feel the extra power that is provided at about 2800-3000 RPM and up. I get about 7-9 psi of boost from the unit.

I ran the truck on a dyno prior to the installation, and again after. Before, to the wheels, torque 230.8, HP 174.2, After torque 261.8, HP 241.1. This is a pretty good increase for only 5-8 psi. It didn't turn the truck into a tire smoking beast, but it did increase performance. 0-60 times before install averaged 13.48 sec, and after 11.56 sec. I never thought to do any 1/4 mile runs, so I don't know how that was affected. The only thing that is noticeable is the whine from the supercharger, quite noticeable. Especially at idle, it gets lots of looks. Mostly I think that people just wonder what is going wrong with the motor that makes it whine.

I haven't had the opportunity to run it against a Hemi truck to see how it holds up, but I think it would probably hold its own. I know that against my 00 5.9 R/T Durango, it runs better than it did before the SC install, especially from a 20 mph roll where the rpm is up off idle.
