The wife and I picked up our new 21' TT this afternoon. 3100lbs dry weight. It was about 80 the whole trip and my trans temps never got above 145*. I think this is where the MH pan and Redline C+ really shine which is under load. I couldn't believe how cool my transmission was running.133106f69c1bbbd71a3ce118c7a8d7c2.jpg

Today I drained & refilled my XSMN oil , AWESOME ! Just under 8 qts .

About 2500 miles ago I installed a Mag-Hytec Xsmn Pan with a drain plug , I serviced it with Redline C + ATF then , today was a pre planned attempt to just get closer to 100% Redline C+ in my XSMN , I may do one more next spring then at 25 k increments for me ...

Awesome Ronnie! This fluid really idid make a world of difference in how smooth my 66RFE shifts now.

On a side not, yes it shifts smoothly but i will be 100% honest about the shift points on the 66RFE paired with the 6.4. It pretty much suck unless you are in tow/haul mode when in town. On the highway it is good but not great. I need to manually downshift to 5th on hills because the truck waits to long unless i put my foot in the gas to make it do it.

To he honest again.... the truck shifts GREAT when im towing and working it hard. It shifts GREAT when i have to "get on it" durring daily driving. But causal driving you NEED tow/haul mode.

4.56 gears would help tremendously with this issue...

Sorry for my rant.

Your 25,000 mile incriments sounds like a good idea. I have been thinking 25,000 for a regular change and filters as well. Thats about 2.5 - 3 years for me.

I'll probably drop the pan & change the filters again @100k which would be about a 50k intervals for me . I definitely think my 65RFE shifts better on the Redline C +

My 65RFE shifts amazing on C+. There's a clear improvement in shifting over the stock fluid. And the temps under load are nothing short of incredible.

U&A, I agree it's not the best for downshifting but in TH mode it's much better. I was really impressed with the engine breaking and shift points while towing my TT home the other day.

THIS!!

my temps while towing 4,000lbs just a few weeks after the FIRST ( iv done 2 now) fluid change are EXACTLY the same as durring daily driving. On OEM it would have gone from daily driving (172) to 180 easy.

I'm pretty sure it has something to do with Tapatalk. My spark plug change thread was missing pics the other day and I had to re upload them from my phone. Once I did that they are now sideways. I would love to be able to upload a bunch of pics on my laptop but it only allows a Max of something like 5 pics which is ok for some things but a how to thread usually has a bunch of pics.

I hate to say it, but the cloud is your friend for picture storage. I hate putting them out there like that but i ran out of space.

RLK: Thanks again for this thread.
I will be installing a Mag Hytech pan as well.
Probably late into the next summer months. To help with cooling while towing as well as easier service.
Especially before a long summer vacation trip pulling the 5th wheel.
Drain the pan & add fresh ATF.
Yes I know it will be only draining 1/2 the ATF but that alone has it benefits.

I will probably replace the rearend cover first & refill with a RL 75W-90/140 combo.

Nick has quoted me a great price.

Thanks again.

No worries mate !
I agree , larger capacity pan , multiple deep cooing fins = cooler running ATF , easy pan drain & Refill ....also with the larger capacity when you do a pan drain & refill your putting in more fresh ATF than with a stock pan ....[emoji16][emoji16]

I'm just glad this thread could help folks out !!

Question is anyone removing the cooler line to flush the torque converter? Is dump and fills ok?
This is what most places are doing.
Isn't the idea to put fresh fluid in?
Thanks
Awesome post.
