But will it hold up like the 8-speed with power upgrades like the whipple?

Don't think its the gear ratio difference but the clutches that fail, but I have seen others talk about these 6-speeds built with better quality components & still fail.I'd say no due to the 6speed has higher gerar ratios in 1rst , 2nd and 3rd gears , to my knowledge 4th , 5th gears are either the same or very similar.

True but the 8-speed has more force applied to the clutches than the 6.The ratios of the first few gears & amt of throttle being applied absolutely determine how much force / pressure is being asked of / applied to the clutches [emoji848][emoji848]

Yes I would love to have 4:56 but I am in the same boat as you, 3:55 4x4 front differential is my hold up. Thought about swapping to 3:92 but don't think its worth it on the 6-speed with 3:55, just not enough difference to really feel. The rear differential ratio also plays a big part as you know ...the 8speed is offered in The 321 & 392 ....sometimes the 410 or 456 is preferred .....based on what one does work with his or her Truck ...

That's a great idea! Think I'll do that when I drop the pan again. Not that I don't trust the magnet on the MH drain plug but I figure more magnets are better...U&A: Thank U! I will plan to apply 2 Neodymium magnets to the outside case of this filter.
Same filter for both!
Me personally: I really would like to find out who produces this synthetic ATF for Mopar.
I really am contemplating leaving the Mopar ATF +4 in my transmission and just draining the pan before every summer.
But still dropping the pan every 35,000-40K miles and replacing the filters would still be on the schedule.
Just plan on doing my Transmission Service & Rearend Service @ the same time.
After the new rearend cover is installed the service will take only 30 min.
Also possibly adding this with every filter change.

Yes as always: just thinking out loud!
