How about all of us that have 3.55 ?? It is an outrage that we are being discriminated against. This prejudicial slight for members of the community leaves a stain that will follow all of the members for life !!

It is my hope that Donald Trump will come upon this thread and sign an Executive Order condemning all of those that played a roll in this travesty!!!

Please snowflake, take your fake moral outrage elsewhere. The giveaway that you're a liberal is the 3,55. 3.55 is right in the middle of the road, (which we know is a good place to just get run over, and a liberal kind of place). Not to mention that 3.55 is an attempt at compromise, again a liberal thinking position (no, sometimes we CAN'T just get along).

Also, your insistence that the government they involved and solve your problem for you completely removes the camouflage.

;). of course I joke as well.

I just towed my travel trailer with 3.21 gears, with a six in lift, about 7k pounds, give or take a few hundred, I know it's behind me, but it tows so so SO much better than some of the older trucks i've used. I can pull the thing at idle, once i get going, give it a little gas, and i'm up to 50-60 in about 8-10 seconds, i don't want to win a race, i want to move my rig forward. To many people are so concerned about the 3.21, i'm getting 11MPG towing 7k pounds with a lift, and 35" tires, i'm going to assume most towing this weight with 3.92 is getting closer to 8 or 9. Hell, after you factor in the tires, i'm probably closer to a 3.05/2.90 rear end. I can't compare them to a 3.92 because I haven't towed with them, but if i'm happy with 3.21, why tempt myself :)

Just tried to build a RCSB 4x2 and 3.55 requires v6.

Gear Ratio Options from what I can tell

V6
3.21 or 3.55

Hemi
3.21 or 3.92

Transmission Ratios
8hp70
1- 4.71
2- 3.14
3- 2.1
4- 1.67
5- 1.29
6- 1
7- 0.84
8- 0.67

65rfe
1- 3
2- 1.67
3- 1.5
4- 1
5- 0.75
6- 0.067

Back to the Original Question of 3.21/8 vs 3.92/6,

I have 4.10a, and the Hemi Fever Tune. Last year, there was a super sharp RCSB 4 WD, at the local dealership. I mean this thing was cool. It was on the lot for 3 days, then someone bought it. 3.21/8 in that truck. Bone stock, brand new. I drove it expecting to be really impressed with that tranny that a lot of you rave about. Nothing. I dont get it.

There is only one reason for the existance of that super tall gearing in most Rams. EPA mandated parts per million at highway speeds.

There is nothing a 3.21 can do that a 3.92 can't do better. If you want to save a few pennies on fuel, you should have paid cash when you bought the truck. If you're making payments on a 3.21, you got skinned twice.

Why I do agree about thr 3:92s being a better gear, driving a modded truck and then jumping into a bone stock truck and expecting to be blown away is alittle crazy.
The 8sp is night and day difference, that 6sp just lacks some much compared to it.
kinda like comparing a modded truck with 4:10s to a stock truck with 3:21s.. the 8sp is that much better.

I agree about why stress about gears. And why do these types of threads have to turn into a who can **** the furthest contest?

I'm very happy with my 3.55 and when I do need to get into it the extra 1/8 of a second the 3.92 would have gotten me there is of no matter.

I just want to say that my 3.21 drives great and that I can **** pretty far. :)
