8HP70 Trans Tuning Officially Supported

Don't know if anybody on this site is aware, but HPTuners officially released a beta program to adjust shift points, line pressure etc. with full upshift and downshift tables for modification.

THIS IS HUGE! IMO This is going to make a massive difference in performance for this transmission. Getting rid of those slow WOT upshifts and being able to raise shift points is going to make these trucks alot quicker. Not to mention the increased response while going from cruise>WOT.

Yes, you can also use HPT to tune the TCM independently of the PCM if you have chosen Diablo for the engine tuning side already.

Another disadvantage for my 5 speed.
What else can I do to keep up with the jones' now?

The 5 speed trans already has tuning available for them.

I demoed an 8/3.21 Hemi, Ram. I was not at all impressed. I prefer my 5/4.10, Hemi Fever tuned truck.

But, l also dread the Tuned 8. <That, l believe, is going to be something. Then put a Pro Charger on it..... Oh my.

I can think of a couple things...

We need to come together as a 5 speed community and make tuning transmissions with 8 gears, illegal. It's not safe and should carry a hefty fine and jail time. I heard the first guy to tune his 8 speed lost control and wiped out an entire elementary school.

I was just about to say, you cant compare the two trucks especially one being tuned.

Does anyone know what this means for those of us with Diablo tuners and custom tunes already? Will this simply be a modification to the tune that allows transmission tuning also?
