I wanna see if anyone has come across this problem with their 8sp transmission. I'd say 8 times out of 10 when I'm at a stand still and I floor it it spins and instead of going into second it just redlines until I let go off the throttle. It does it on D or if a manually shift it. I'd appreciate any opinions or guesses on what my problem could be.

Well since I don't do that to mine never have and probably never will.

I probably can't even give you a good guess so I won't.

The +/- buttons on the steering wheel only limit the highest gear the trans with shift into, it doesn't force an upshift.
Sounds like you may have a problem with the trans or too much lead foot.

Yea I kno the purpose of the +/- buttons. Even if I put it on 3 and I take off full throttle it doesn't shift into second just redlines when it should shift to the next gear. Other than that the transmission works flawlessly and smooth.

Yeah it shouldn't do that, it should know it's running out of gear and needs to shift. Maybe get it checked at dealer ?

Either a bad tune, or a bad transmission. That should never happen.
Mine will shift through the gears as it spins.

Its stock other than a vararam intake, catch can and a welded on magnaflow. Well it looks like I'm going to have to take a trip to the dealer. Will I need to remove the intake and catch can and put the factory one before I take it in?

Try to do a reset by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. When I go my truck it would sometimes. I did reset of the ecu and it never happened again

Huge win if this works. Going to the dealer is really unpleasant.

I leave everything on my truck but the tune.
But now that I am thinking about this.
It did happen to my truck three times and it was before the tuner.
It was a factory recall where they had to re-flash. Everything has been fine since.
