Debating on purchasing a tuner here soon.

Any updates on if or when any type of transmission tuning will be available for the 8 speeds?

I have a 2014 if that matters.

They can change engine tuning but still can't change the transmission tuning yet.

Out of curiosity, why would you want a transmission tuner for the 8spd? What features might it add?

Harder shifts? Smarter shift points? Chirps the tires when shifting into 3rd gear? What do you mean shifts properly now?

You have a 2014 so you can tune without purchasing a PCM.

Suggest you contact hemifever for a pkg deal, his tunes really make a big difference

Someday, eventually there will be tuning available for the 8 speed. raised shift points and probably increased firmness at the shift.

My advise is not to play with any kind of tuners like Diablo. Find a professional tuner that will adjust your maps sitting in your car. You will spend several hours for the procedure, but in the end it will be a good result

A Diablo I2 w/ a email custom tune is all you need and really all you can get on these trucks. Jay Greene, Flyin Ryan or Hemifever tune gives great results. They are the 3 main go to guys for tuning.

Your advise is based on...what?

What tuning system are you eluding to? Maybe the system they use on street outlaws? .....not for a car/truck with a locked PCM.

For 90% of us a canned tune or CMR e-mail tune is awesome.

Even with FI / N02 it can be done in this manner.

At some point it does become worth the the expense for a dyno tune. My tuner did part of this while sitting in the car. He needed to do that to press the gas pedal.

Diablo has been used by countless people to tune their vehicles. Safely and with great improvements all around.

Yeah some folks have had problems, like with any product.

Back to your post...why would you encourage the OP to pay someone to tune my mostly stock vehicle while sitting in it for I'm sure a added expense, when he can do it himself with less of an investment in both time and money?
Further should the OP add to his build he would have to go back to that same point of service to have the tuning adjusted.

You will be hard pressed to go find someone that can tune better in person than Jay or Sean tuning through email for these trucks.

Yes...in the GM & Ford world an in person tune is better than an email tune...but this isnt the GM & Ford world

The easiest way isn't a good one:naughty: There is a huge difference if you hiring a personal coach in gym comparing to ordering online supa-dupa-mega-muscles course.

My advise is based on my personal experience with Diablo+custom tune from one of the tuners previously mentioned.
I'm talking about HPTuners and EFILive software for correct tuning. I'm talking about analog WB sensor installed for correct measurements. I'm talking about at least 150 maps to be adjusted for correct engine work. Not like mixing parts of different tunes in a canned diablo tune.

As for the locked PCM, you will need to unlock it anyway rather to use with diablo or professional tuning software.

You need a tuner not for just pressing a gas pedal. You need to ride at least several hours so he can calibrate a VE first. Then he makes a correction in tune, put in you truck and then to the next step. And so on, and so on. You can make it on a dyno, but you can save some money making the same on straight road.

I tuned my previous GM truck with HPTuners and did it quite good, but with my RAM I asked to come another specialist, as I don't have any experience with Chrysler. The reason for this was a strange shifting I received in a canned custom tune. So in fact, the Torque Management was done absolutely wrong. And in the end we've found many strange things. Anyway, don't want to spread a **** around, that is my experience.

As for those who are satisfied, maybe those are lucky, maybe those are just satisfied that getting better 0-60mph than with a stock tune...but did somebody compare 60-100mph for example? :naughty: or AFR numbers? Or maybe somebody will have to check if ESP is still enabled in that canned tune?

Why do you think it is for Ford and GM only? What's the difference? you have the same type of PCM that allows you to make all adjustments needed(excluding 2015+ with locked PCM).
There is a difference in adjusting of several points, as throttle for example. GM uses linear model, Chrysler it's own a bit more complicated, mirror styled and even with discrepancies in axis.

He is a guy living in Russia, member of HPTuners testers team. Quite professional one! He made a final tune for my 416ci twin-turbo Escalade. So that was a true challenge :)))
