Hey all, about a year ago i followed a fellow 4.7 owners idea of making his own intake, and for about a year i've had 0 issues. But past 2-3 months my truck has gone to dog sh--, struggles to stay at 70 mph crusing, ext. I swapped my make-shift intake back to factory well see if thing improve. I figured through heat cycles, the piping i used became weak, and was collapsing under load, therefore limiting air flow to the eninge.
The main part of the discussion is, does deleteing the air resonator with a true system actually help. Or are they designed to help flow aswell as deaden sound? I would like to get an Airaid modular intake tube to delete the air hat(resonator) but if they are designed to help pull more air in as well as deaden sound (which i dont care about) then i rather keep the factory hat.
