So my friend has a cammed out 2001 Z06 as I was sitting behind him at a stop light getting my truck rattled by his cammed out Corsa exhaust. I started wondering about dropping a cam into my truck. I have heard previous HEMIs need to remove the heads and pull back the lifters to drop in a new CAM. Is it still that complicated or has that changed in our 4th GENS?

There are very few 4th gens running an aftermarket cam as of now. Like Jesse said, tuning is going to be the biggest factor with you being a 2012. Any cam that gives the sound you are looking for is going to require custom tuning.

It's harder for these trucks from what I understand with all the vvt stuff you can't use cams used on 3rd gens

I would say if your gonna cam it, you might as well do a stroker kit. It's alot more $$$, but man the power would be awesome, and everything would compliment each other.

Do you have an example of a stroker kit? I'm curious to see one but haven't been able to find one for the 4th gens.

Shop Hemi has some available stroker kits. I have been looking at them trying to understand what all comes with it.

There are people with "eagle" cams for the trucks just have to plan on the tuning before you toss in a bump stick.
