Anyone getting their truck ready for Race season?

With summer about to start winding down, the temps are going to drop, and these trucks are going to start running better than ever. Is anyone in the process of getting their truck ready to put down some fast times this winter?

I'm shooting for a goal of 13.5 in my big truck. I have a set of Hoosier slicks here and will have some Ram SS/T wheels for them on Monday. Also have a set of 4.56's ready to go in as well to get this heavy truck off the line a bit quicker.

Who else is ready to start hitting the dragstrip in search of some quick 1/4 mile times?

im hoping to finally buy a set of slicks this year and get a good pass out of mine before i get some 4.56 for it also

My pistons were ordered 2 days ago... when they arrive I should finally have all the parts. Just need to pull the motor and start machining the block etc.
I'm hoping to be done and racing by Nov

I am getting a set of chrome clad stockers today and hoping to drop close to, if my calculations are correct, 80+ lbs of unsprung weight off of the truck. This should really wake it up. Now, if I can get the stock SRA's to grab, maybe I will take it down and see how it does? Still waiting for an 87mm TB and headers before I do a custom tune. Wouldn't hurt to see where it is at now, before the later mods, anyway.

Yup just got my heads back from porting and val e springs installed. Just waiting for my 1.60 valves to arrive and im on my way now to drop off my 245mm stall at circle D to make it a 4c 3600-3700.

Going for the NA record!!!!

Yeah me too! Did some research on this set up and should make better power than my old 5.7L set up that got me 12.49 NA. So ill keep you updated. I'm excited to see joey ( red RT) new set up. I'm hoping he can get a low 12 NA also in a 4th gen.

Nope it was sold the next day. He never had a chance to go see it. it would've been sick with a 6.4

I told him I would have bought it if he passed on it...haha.

So what is he doing to get in the low 12's then? The fastest N/A 4th gen so far is a 12.80, so going more than a half second faster than that is going to be tough without nitrous or getting into the motor.

I don't race. But to me, it's the most interesting thing that goes on here. I guarantee that I'll read everything you guys post, several times. It'll be interesting to see what going from 3.92s to 4.46s will do. Like it or not, you Racers are leading the way.

He is getting into the motor, 4.56, some weight reduction. He already has nitrous. So I'm helping with some weight reduction tricks we picked up many yrs ago. Hopefully with some good DA he can break atleast 12.6.

Damn ur wanting to drop a 6.4 in the CC? That would be sick. Joey told me u already have things done to the 4th gen. Have u hit the track?

I am chomping at the bit. I didn't get the stall in in time to run it while it was cool. Here I come 14's. lol. Best before stall was 15.06. I really need a custom tune.

Nice. I think a 12.6 is possible N/A without going too deep into the motor...as long as he catches the weather right.

As for my truck, I have every bolton available and a 2800 stall converter. 4.56's go in next week, and I will also have a track wheel tire setup...Hoosiers out back with narrower tires up front on SS/T wheels. I have not run it at the track yet because it has been so hot this summer. As soon as my front wheels come back in from being narrowed, I will get it out to the track to see how it runs.

Negative, the truck is retired, it was fun while it lasted though. Two transmission rebuilds are enough for me.

Tyler, I didn't know about a 2nd lost tranny. You have been around long enough to know how to drive these things, so what happened on the 2nd one?
