Will the 84mm throttle body for the charger fit the ram? I'm looking at finally upgrading to a truck. 2017 tradesman. Looking at Jba shorty headers, fix the factory y pipe..., s&b intake, American thunder muffler and dumping the exhaust. Would a larger tb be more beneficial?

Or would it be better to get a Moes ported tb? I'm not very knowledgeable about tb's or which is better on a mostly stock motor

Did you check out Moe's performance? They have the 87mm and BBK has a 90mm.

Don't you think the 87 may be to large for the truck with all stock internals? Especially the 90. I'm leaving the factory intake manifold. Hopefully I won't have to order a pcm and tune.

Our 87mm still retains the factory 80mm blade and tapers back down to 83mm on the back side of the blade, so it is not at all too big for a basic bolt on 5.7. The true bore 84-85mm throttle bodies actually produce less tq than our 87mm because they do not have the tapered back side which is designed to increase airspeed and improve tq and throttle response.

Take a water hose for example...if you turn on the water with no nozzle on the hose, a lot of water is coming out, but it isnt moving very fast. Now put a pressure nozzle on the end. The tapered nozzle allows the same amount of water to come through, but at a much faster speed. This is the same principle behind the taper we use on the back of our throttle body.

Oh. Interesting. I may have to look into that then as I did not know about the tapered back.
