Just curious if all Rams do this. . DOES YOUR RAM auto upshift. Meaning put it in autostick 1st, go into WOT, hit the redline, tcm shifts to 2nd, etc? On it's own with no input from the driver? Mine does and I think it's awesome. The perfect shift everytime.

Like the friend I had while going to college. He drove his mustang to pieces and I felt like he wound that damn thing out a little too far. So one day I asked him where does he shift when going WOT, he said right before he floats the valves......


This is what that feature is for lol!!!

Hmm, weird. I originally thought it was something Dave Kasper wrote into the tcm when he tuned the transmission at Arrington. But I swapped out pcms and have been trying Yohans tune. It will do the same auto upshifts, even changes the display when it shifts.

If I remember correctly, the earlier challangers auto upshift as well even at part throttle. The Predator tuner would give them mode 1, mode 2 options to disable it. But the funny thing was Diablosport had to provide the 2 options because not all tcm were oem tuned the same.

My 11 six speed sits there until I shift. I kinda enjoy shifting it that way.

Mine went through the roof once when I thought it was in D, but was in 1. I damn near **** myself thinking it was gonna blow. Drove the next 100 km's thinking I damaged a spring or lifter or something.

Its been OK so far though. haven't made that mistake again either.

Driveshaft RPM target for the 1/2 shift with the column in low stock is 6496 or 19488 engine RPM. Must be hardwired because it can't be tuned out...

Jay, you lost me with that one. I think I understand what your saying but it's foreign. Any help?

WOW, some 11's will auto upshift some don't. I've pushed mine through 2-3 shift but can never find enough real estate for 3-4 shift.

Neither of my 2011's will upshift on their own if starting out in 1st. After your post last week, I tested it on the stock tune, Diablo tune, and HF tune, and none of them would shift on their own.

My 13' six speed up-shifts during WOT at red line from 1-2 but not 2-3 or 3-4.

Literally only 1-2 does and when I red line 2nd gear it bangs off the Rev limiter and bogs hard. Very scary the first time it ever happened because you are NOT moving slow if you red line 2nd gear from a stop @WOT. :(

The shift tables are in driveshaft RPM. The table for low or 1st has it set to a absurd RPM 6496 driveshaft RPM. Since first is 3:1 in ratio you multiply by 3 to get the engine RPM.

The downside about Diablo is that even though you have the table doesn't mean it's active. This is a prime example.

Have set the valve to the max allowed for two trucks I tune that mud bog to try and prevent up shifts to no avail....

Now that you mention this, I did this same thing about a year ago. Thought I was 3rd auto stick but really 2nd. I didn't bang the rev limiter. The RPM just kept climbing when I reached the shift point and I got a little freaked and backed off. About 2 months ago, I went into WOT, and it shifted into 3rd around 95mph. Agreed, not something I want to continue to test at those speeds.

Thanks Matt for chiming in. Just trying to figure out why some can and some can't. So far no rhyme or reason to it.
