Received my shorties today with the chrome finish. They ahead seem to have some surface rust.
Also put a straight edge across them. I never used a feeler gauge but it's close to a 1/16" of an inch difference in the middle of the flange then the sides.
This a common thing? Or is it just my luck with this kind of stuff.

chrome rust .. not sure about the plane of them , maube they will flatten out when you tighten them down.

I would recommend staying way from BBK. Their quality has gone down hill over the years, and fitment is hit and miss on the 4wd models as well.

Yes I've read reviews. It doesn't surprise me tbh. I just wanted to fix my manifold problems without to much cost. I don't need the expensive long tubes. I just needed a replacement for the old manifolds that are no good now. BBKs price aren't that much more then what it would be for putting stock back.

Doesnt help if the new replacement headers dont fit and rust away on you though. JBA stainless shorties are a much better option that wont leak or rust...they also fit on both 2wd and 4wd without any issues.

I paid over 500 to get the BBKs, that was off of eBay. I called around and that's about 50 bucks cheaper then anywhere else I could find plus the back order on them.
The JbA would end up costing me close to 1000 bucks in the end. I really don't see the logic in it. We get scammed with customs and the exchange rate here in Canada it's terrible. Maybe in the long run you might be right. But the way my truck is going I might not have it that much longer anyways because it seems like new things are going wrong with it every month lol.

Should see more power, someone said around 8hp with shorties, then if you have a tune gpu should see that nice jump as well.
Truck should run out real nice now.

Did you use the bolts and gaskets? I think I'll use the bolts, they are 10.9, so an equivalent of a grade 8 standard. Seems good enough for me. I think I'll pick up oem gaskets tomorrow instead of the bbk ones.

Started the headers today. I wasn't the one doing it but all the bolts had to be cut off to get the old manifolds off.
To get the headers in place the y pipe had to be cut off. Headers are technically in place now. Bring the y pipe up after and weld it back together. Bit of ******* around. Sorry for the language.

Headers are on.
Truck is finally quiet again:)
No noticeable difference power wise with daily driving. But I wasn't expecting that anyways. Hopefully these last as long as the truck.
