2016-2017 Crew cab 4x4 chebby yes, very likely it will beat the R/T. stock they run 14.3 in the quarter.. Bone stock, full trim tool box all my gear as its driven on the street I ran a 14.6 bone stock with a crappy reaction time.

No for some reason the RCSB chebbys are around 15.1 in the quarter.... my guess is they have the 5.3L while the one that runs the 14.3 has the larger motor.

And note the 2015-up R/T runs a 14.0. I'm sure some are faster but that is the official reported time

I would bet (just guessing) that it's easier to get more power out of the GM by doing very little because of the fact that it is a MAF system. Why the Ram runs a MAP system is a mystery to me (from a motorhead point of view). I've tuned with them in the past and it's fine if you are dealing with one type of engine and are shooting for a specific target HP, and repeating it, but if you want to change configurations for more/less HP, MAF is a much easier system to deal with.

I know, I know. I answered my own gripe.

I just got rid of a 2013 GMC 6.2 4 door w/ tune, full exhaust, intake & LS9 TB. It ran 14.3 stock & 13.61 after the mods. My new RT ran 13.98 w/ a muffler & intake in the heat. W/ mods the RT will be faster. The RT is alot lighter than the 4 door

I beat a 6.2.

His was leveled on mud terrains

Mine is leveled on ST Maxx's. I drug his ass from 60-130 lol. No idea what mods he had if any other than exhaust.

Fun times. Prob not applicable to what you are talking about but still made me feel good.

I've only lost once... and that was against a brand New Corvette... Even with the jump off the line, that thing still walked my ass... Then again, I shouldn't be picking on cars like that lol.

6.2 Chevrolet, Stock 6 Speed will have it's hands full, while the 8 Speed stock should be able to beat it, but not by much. C/D Results of both trucks are pretty close.

Those 6.2s are not as impressive as they were in 2007 when they first put them on the Denali Trucks. It made Ford's whimpy 5.4L all the more juvenile, and made the Hemi trucks of those days cry just a little bit.

Thats what I was thinking. Weight and traction are huge. The R/T is much lighter and has a better center of gravity too. It should easily handle a 4 door 5.3 and I would imagine stock for stock beat out the new 6.2 also. They all pack plenty of power but the weight of the 4 doors is a killer. At least with the R/T you shed a lot of weight so that 400HP Hemi can breathe a little easier.

I have a 2014 quad cab 8 spd with a tune a simple tune ( i can squeeze way more power but i need a dyno ) and k&n intake and a offroad y pipe with no bed cover (it makes a really good diffrence after 80 mph) i raced 2015 sierra quad cab with a dyno tune intake headers offroad y pipe cat back bed cover and i win every single time (roll race) from 20 mph till 110 mph but i raced a single cab with the same mods but he has a drop ( it also makes a really huge diffrence above 70 -80 mph ) he won but i was very close but after 100mph he gets away

That was a very painful-to-read run on sentence

They have 8 speed now

True, but if you read about it, its not as nice as the 8-speed the Ram has. I think a lot of GMC guys are waiting for the 10-speed Ford (mostly) developed tranny that GMC and Ford are sharing (Ford is doing the truck one, GMC is supposedly developing a 9/10 speed for the cars/small SUVs that they will share).

Reaction time has nothing to do with ET at the drag strip.

I have a hard time believing a new 5.3 would beat a 5.7 Hemi. We test drove a 2015 Chevy double cab 5.3 and even to the floor had terrible get up and go IMO. A 2012 6.2 Denali was better than the 5.3 but still isn't like our 4th gens. Just personal .02

I had a 2013 GMC Sierra 6.2/6 speed. Ran a 14.3 stock(which is pretty much on par w/ a newer stock Ram w/ the 5.7/8 speed ) & ran a 13.61 w/ tune, intake & full exhaust. ALL of the big 3 have tons of torque management in their stock tunes. I now have 2016 R/T. Honestly the trucks feel about the same.

Be advised, don't try to outrun a Tundra!
