Thumbs up I had 2 broken i got 1 via easy out second one had to be welded as to not mess up the head I couldn't get a stright drill on it. Not a fun job but you can now knock it off your bucket list.

Dodge using sub part bolts to save money :)

Love corporate greed, And from the amount of post about this on forums im surprised they still get away with it.

Did the same thing last night. Top back bolts on both sides and 2 more broke when taking manifolds off. Just welded a nut on all of em and came right out. Let's hope these new ones don't do the same down the road.

I have this job pending to be done in October. Not looking forward to it. I know I have broken ones on the driver side. I dont have a welder so Im hoping I can get to them with a right angle drill along with reverse drill bits and EZ outs.

Good news, got all 8 out. Back two had just the head broke so the stud was sticking out. Front top was broke right at the engine. Drilled tiny and worked up to the ez up. Out it came. I heated all of them before wrenching. New ones going back in.

Why put stock bolts and manifolds back in? They suck and warp and break constantly. After all that work I would upgrade... headers and stage 8 bolts or ARP manifold bolts.

If you can't then I would at least buy better grade bolts than own stock cause they break all the time If you have to stay with manifolds. Seems like a lot of hassle to have to do again.

I agree. But had bought better ones than stock but they were the wrong ones. Last minute trip to dealership as no other parts places had them. It is what it is.

Good luck! You did a great job! You are lucky the manifolds were not warped as ina few other threads.

Depends on your factory warranty, age, and miles. I was emailing back and forth with a tech at a local dodge dealership, because I'm fairly certain I have at least one broken bolt, and he told me broken bolts and warped manifolds are covered as long as warranty hasn't run out.

Bring your factory exhaust manifolds to your local engine machine shop and have them resurfaced before reinstalling

Resurfaced manifolds

New manifold gaskets

New bolts and studs

Problem solved

We resurfaced them ourselves. Cleaned up very nicely. And all new gaskets.

You may not fall into this category but there is a Federal Emissions law that says the Manufacture must warranty any emissions related parts for 8 years / 80,000 miles. Exhaust manifold bolts would be part of the emissions system I believe.

Both mine were done under warranty 2 days before I installed my headers lol... :flipthebird: Mopar

They put on 2 new ****** OEM manifolds along with all the same factory crap that caused them to fail.

My wife had this same issue on her 2006 Durango. Thankfully the back to snapped right at the manifold flang (outside) so when I removed it, I had a good 1" of bolt sticking out that I was able to get a vice grip on and get it out.
