My wife had this same issue on her 2006 Durango. Thankfully the back to snapped right at the manifold flang (outside) so when I removed it, I had a good 1" of bolt sticking out that I was able to get a vice grip on and get it out.

that has to be poor material, or improper radius on the underside of the head, or just bad engineering, or a combination of all three. I don't understand why mother mopar would allow this to continue ad nauseam. Is there no quality control on these bolts?

Anyone here buy studs to replace the bolts. I just had this job done for the second time and I need my truck back so they just did the factory crap again. I need an exhaust so I'm doing headers back and want to put studs in

I have a set of srt header bolts I no longer need that were sold to me incorrectly. Seller is now banned from this site. $20 and they are yours in your mailbox.

If you are going with headers stage 8 locking bolts for mopar just google as I don't have the part # in front of me. They are about $45

I guess my problem with the bolts why the hell do the factory ones break all the time. That is what scares me about the bolts in the first place. I will probably be doing headers and exhaust in 2 or 3 months.

That's the difference in the srt bolts and normal hemi bolts

They are shorter and I believe a different grade of bolt designed for headers and the srt models. Otherwise, I'm not totally sure.

Can anyone recommend a good replacement bolt - non-OEM? other than the locking ones?

Thanks

Did this issue get resolved on the 2013+ models? Anybody know if ram changed the bolts that are used?
