Got my new BT catch can installed today! All went well except for a missing bolt, but no biggie. I am taking a ~2000 mile trip to Florida starting tomorrow and I will be interested in seeing how much oil accumulates in the can on this trip. This is the standard satin can with free hoses, nothing fancy here.

It's an oil catch can. The PCV valve normally takes blowby oil and dumps it back into the intake for the engine to burn. This goes in-line with that system and filters out the oil, then you just dump it out every few weeks or so. Keeps all the old oil from being burned.

I don't think it's an issue on the 3rd gens, just the redesigned 09+ Hemis. But anyways, got this one directly from Billet Technologies for $135 shipped, installation takes about 10 minutes.

Dave, me thinks gomangoman has one for third gen. But unless you have a nipple on your intake to run the vent tube from the oil fill you have no need for one right? I but a breather filter on mine.

Thanks! It just protects the engine, might be a slight performance increase from not burning oil, but it would be negligible.

I actually have one on my Trailblazer SS cause the vette motor is known for blow-by of oil. I never thought to get one for my Outdoorsman, great thought. I heard the oil coats the intake and fouls stuff up in the intake side of the engine. Please correct me if I am wrong? I check mine every couple months and dont have much oil in it in the trailblazer.
