Has anybody been able to achieve a nice deep exhaust tone?

I have tried a single in single out Flow 10, too raspy and loud.

Now I have a single in dual out Magnaflow, high pitched but better.

I've been looking around and may try out true dual with two Flow 44's. A place not too far from me called Kinney's Muffler has videos on YouTube of them doing just that on V6 engines and it sounds good.

My personal favorite is the third link.

Anybody?

Try these links:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=OoRDJVJ0Eiw

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=IKX-3tNG7Z0

(You can skip the 1st half of each vid to get to the exhaust sounds)

I can't help ya much as I think a 5.7 doesn't sound deep,,, (I reserve that terminology for 7+ liter engines,,,)

Wife had an 11 Mustang 3.7 V6 with virtually an identical dual pipes/x-over combination as shown in the vids,,, We put some Magnaflows on it and it droned like a million Herefords,,,,, It sounded great above 3,000 rpm, but in reality, most of our lives aren't spent above 3k,,,

But,,, if you like the Flow sound,,, why not try one? (1, as in a single) It won't be nearly as $$$ as duals, and the 3.6 doesn't have enough exhaust CFM to require duals by any stretch of the imagination,,, (I guess you could try duals, but jeez,, 2 1/4 - 2 1/2 inch 'soda straw' head pipes would be far better than going with dual 3's in regards to flow/scavenging, but forget ~deep~ tone with soda straws,,,)

Those are all the same links I posted lol.

It's the best sound I've found out of a modern V6 online so it seems that's my only option.

Have you tried adding a CAI? My exhaust note changed noticeably after adding the K&N CAI to the OEM RAM sport exhaust I put on it...

I've been thinking about it, just unsure of the sound and performance gains for $300+.

But going single in dual out Magnaflow, I noticed more power over my previous setup. Just not a great tone.

Would you buy the CAI looking back?

Read my review here...

I don't have any regrets but if I'm being honest with myself $300 is too much for some of the finish issues I perceive.

If someone came out with just the smooth intake tube that connected the stock airbox to the intake I would go that route and try to modify the stock airbox to improve airflow.

Um,,, Yes, they are intentionally the ~same~ links.

Click on one of yours, nothing happens.

Click on one of mine,,,, :)

Ah ok, they work for me.. Weird.

Well, the dudes at Kinney's are quoting about 700 for a true dual with two 44's system, and they also do CAI work so I would guess $1k if I had them do that as well.

Honestly if my truck sounded like those links posted I wouldn't be disappointed, but I'm hesitant on the price..

I wouldn't drop that kind of money. That's why I found a takeoff OEM sport exhaust for around $150.

Do you have any videos of the exhaust tone other than the CAI one?

Nope...but there is a post on YouTube that has someone who used the standard Hemi exhaust on his Pentastar. If I find it I'll post...

Try going with a larger diameter straight through design it will get rid of Raspiness. Like a round Borla XR1 style

You'll really never know until you try it. Looks like the price of entry is $1,000.00, whether you end up liking it or not,,

Have you considered the replacing your current Magflow with same FlowM used in the vids?

Yes I could replace my current muffler for a single in dual out 44, but in the videos they are using two 44's with true duals. So I'm not sure how far off the sound will be.
