Mine is off, no pics on hand. Makes engine bay look bigger as well.
Though, ive noticed the intake manifold looks far dirtier now without it on. I like to think the engine cools off nicer without it as well (stays cooler when running with improved airflow)
My thought was added heat protection for the Vararam. Besides keeping my engine a little cleaner...
In process now of cutting a hole in my engine cover to run my PVC filter out the top.
I so wish someone would come out with something for the 2014 6.4 Hemi already. This is killing me. I can't get an exhaust. Can't get a cold air hood induction system. Can't look for anything yet. Lol. No suspension or even floor mats.
I just installed my Vararam an hour ago without the engine cover. But after seeing your picture and it gets pretty dirty up here (salt, road grime, etc) I decided it would be best to keep it on to keep the engine a little cleaner. So I put the cover back on.
I need to put my cover back on..I think it would help a little also with engine heat getting to the vararam..On a side note you are defeating the whole purpose of the vararam intake unless you cut your radiator cover some more. From the pic it looks like the radiator cover is dead up against the vararam preventing any air from getting to it.
My radiator cover funnels fresh air through the open area between my hood and the top of my radiator support.
The fin from Vararam fit behind my radiator and did not flow as much air that way as it does now.
Thank you for your thoughts Charles but for me and My truck this set up works better.
The vararam wing fit behind or in front of your radiator?I didn't think the small opening between the hood and grill was enough to supply the vararam.Im gonna send you a Pm with a way to try running your truck to get a pretty good 60ft.My crewcab is consistently in the 5.7's now 0-60.And hey as long as you are happy, I'm happy lol!
Charles
I wasn't bragging. I just hate having to start all over. Going from a loaded truck with CAI, exhaust, tonau cover, and a bunch of stereo system work and a ton of other things to a stock truck sux bad. Lol.
