I currently have the dodm80 delete on my 5.7. But I'm curious about the Carven direct fit (the more aggressive sounding one). Can anyone comment on the differences in sound from one to the other? Thanks.

When the exhaust shop was installing my Carven progressive, they had me come into the shop after they cut the OEM muffler off. The guy starting the truck on the lift with just the straight pipe, we listened, then pushed the muffler on the open pipe. I've had lots of mufflers installed, but never had a shop check to see if you actually like the sound/loudness before they finished the install. So to answer your question- there wasn't much difference in how loud it was, but as others have said, the tone was much more refined, not as raspy. On a side note- I still have the factory tail pipe and resonator, so it is ultimately quieter than running without

The Carven Competitor is going to be loud for sure but will sound good.
If you want louder you could then have the resonators removed and if not enough install some 5" tips.

Ok. I'm thinking I might change it up and get the carven competitor, resonator delete, and 5 inch tips. Ive had the muffler delete for a year and I'm just not sold of the sound.
Side note, I can do the muffler swap myself. But the resonator delete would need to be done at a shop. I got a quote at a local shop for $265 to have the resonators cut out and straight pipes welded in. Is that a fair price?

Guess it depends on what tips you are getting really, it seems alittle high but prices could have went up since I had exhaust work done last.

I was thinking of doing a muffler delete on my 2016 Ram sport, but ending up buying the carven competitor series and 5 inch blacks tips. I drove about a week with no muffler, before installing the carven and it was obnoxiously loud. I liked the loudness but my 2 year old girl would cover ears in the back seat during acceleration.
