I don't feel that the K&N is bad product as I had one and you can feel the difference. I went back to stock with a dry aFe filter as I wanted to have the quiet of stock back. If you like the K&N get it and same goes with all these they are all good just different and will appeal to the person doing it.

Awesome! Mine's on the way, curious to see how the S&B differs from my current K&N (which I don't have any complaints about).

Any prom codes for the vararam and PC package?

When it comes to intakes, S&B, Volant, and Vararam are the top performers for the 4th gens. Best bang for buck would be the S&B, and the best performing has proven to be the Vararam.

My neighbor has a k&n on his 2012 Ram and I am not impressed. Pretty much looks the same as those $80-100 ebay and Amazon ones. I have used a lot of k&n products in past, but one k&n product I will never use again is the oil filters with the nut at bottom. Bought one, put on wife's car, a week later I see drips, then decided to check. K&n when making filter, must have drilled through the filter and oil was dripping out of the nut to remove filter.. Contacted k&n and they wanted me to ship back a $9 full of oil filter, so I just took the loss, wasn't worth having to seal it up in bags and ship at my cost. I had better luck on a 02 Camaro z28 I had a fipk intake system, the carbon fiber filter end seperate from the filter and k&n didn't need it back, took pics and they sent me a new one.

I came home from salmon fishing yesterday and there was a magical box waiting for me on my porch with with some nice S&B logos on it. I went for the oiled filter for its looks and it saves you money in the long run as you don’t have to replace the filter.

Fun fact: Caught three nice ones 10-14 pounds but we are in a no retention period in most of BC so no salmon dinner for me.

I will add my thoughts on the intake when my wife isn’t around to see me install it.

I want to add a cold air intake system to my 2012 1500. I was leaning towards the K&N any thoughts?

None. Those intakes aren't really "cold". Our stock box is pretty good, if only the tube itself was smoother...

I went with an AFE dry drop in.
