It's a 2013
I looked at their site and hadn't seen a 4.7 tuner.
Is it worth it?

The 2013 4.7 is supported. Most of the 4.7s pick up about 20-25hp/tq from custom tuning. You will definitely feel the power increase.

I have a 2015, it is my understanding that a tuner alone will not work for me and I need a PCM and a Tuner. Is this right?

That's correct. 2015-16 trucks need an unlocked PCM as well.

Very soon I was looking to install vararam intake, ported throttle body, and catch can. Between the intake and throttle body will I have any problems not using a tuner? I can't afford the tuner, pcm, intake, and throttle body all at once. I'm not even sure I want to spend $1,000 just so I can tune it, $400-$500 is one thing but a grand is a lot. What do you recommend I do, is the tuner really worth it? Am I wasting my $ with intake mods without a tuner?

You don't have to tune for the intake and throttle body. You won't see their full potential until the tuner is installed though, so I would try to eventually add tuning as well. Tuner alone is going to get you about 30-35hp to the wheels.

Exhaust mods will also be in the future, was thinking true dual 2.5's. All the work I want to do i know a tuner would most definitely be beneficial, it's just a lot of $ at one time especially with an infant around now...

I completely understand that. And nothing wrong with a dual exhaust as long as you don't go bigger than 2.5" piping.

Biggest struggle I'm hitting with this idea is do i go with a single dual in/out or two single mufflers? I wanted an "X" pipe replacing the factory "Y". I had no intentions of going bigger than 2.5" I did my research on pipe size!

I wish I could help you I'm still gathering info on tuners myself, and in doing some research I have found that I'm now in another tough spot for a tuner. Not only does my 2015 need an unlocked pcm, they don't have a tune for it yet anyway because I have the 8 speed trans...

We can tune your motor, but we just can't set shift points for you with the 8sp. There is no trans tuning for any 8sp from 2013+. I'm running an i2 with Hemifever tune on my 2015 with 8sp.

MDS is optional in the tune. He doesn't turn it off unless you ask him to. Even then, you always have the ability to turn it on and off yourself as well with the handheld.

Thank you for that clarification! I'm new to the tuning world it it's getting confusing reading some other threads and only finding partial information!

As for the tranny tune...I have doin a lil reading on this simple lil toy called a sonnex line booster..The guys on the you tube vids i saw say it makes the shifting a lil crisper but not abrupt as a shift kit..

It might be an option to go with the 8 speed and a hemifever tune....Saw it on ebay for $50ish...

Yes and no. The PCM will show that it has been flashed, but it won't say Diablo. If you are concerned about your warranty, then it's best to load the tuner and then put it away. If you change tunes every week, it will throw a red flag for the dealer. If it has only been flashed once or twice, they won't think anything of it.

I have a 4.7 aswell, as the other guy on this thread. I used to be a ford 6.0 PSD guy, and tunes = $$$ repair bills. Do these tuner cause some much change that is can cause premature failure in the engine or transmission? (6speeed) Also regarding the quote, if you load a tune on and dont reset it, they wont know its tuned, just says flashed?

All that Sonnax line pressure booster does is give you firmer shifts at part throttle. The Tq Management tuning that Hemifever does in his tunes will also give you firmer shifts at both part throttle and WOT throttle. The only thing he cant do is change the actual shift point. He can and will raise the rev limiter for you though so that you can rev higher if you shift manually. This is what all the fastest 8sp trucks are doing.

A diesel tuner can give you as much as a 250hp increase which will do damage to factory parts. A gas tuner that gives you anywhere from 20-35hp isnt going to hurt your truck or transmission.
