I wouldn't trust any coolant for 10 years, especially if it is a re-fill.

holy chit!!!! thats some first class cloggage there!!! mine had some scale build up in the thermostat upper radiator hose at the thermostat but the inside behind the tstat looked pristine. im nervous about the flush but feel it NEEDS to be done based on the amount of debris that came out just from pulling the petcock out of the radiator!

This is my next project after I install my clear coolant Reservoir that should arrive on Wednesday.

I have looked for coolant filter kits for gas autos for a few days now and there just are not that many. Compared to diesel kits.

I have found 2 that will be quite effective as well as easy to service.
One is decently priced & One is quite expensive and maybe hard to buy here in the states.

I still need to find information on the diameter of our top radiator hose.

Here is my first choice: There are also sellers on E-Bay! I need to find out the dia of the top radiator hose.

Inline Coolant Filters

http://www.jegs.com/p/Champion-Cool...ystems-Inline-Coolant-Filter/3629311/10002/-1

2nd Choice

Tefba Radiator Filter

http://www.midnightdsigns.com/Mustang/Tefba Filter.html

http://www.hemi265.com/shop/product.php?id_product=104

I do like the easy serviceability of the Tefba: You can also run system with out a screen. Just remove the lid and remove screen/clean/replace/ screw lid back on.

This one I found in billet but I can't find them now.
Both of these install within the Top Radiator hose for easy viewing & service.

Billet but ridiculously priced! But would last forever compared to the composite plastic. Even though there are reviews of the plastic filter being in service for 10 to 15 years with no issues.

Ok found out I need 1 1/2" filter!

Bullet or nothing for sure. I'd double up and order the first one with you!

The Billet Tefba kits are ridiculously stupidly over priced. But the ideal filter kit! (For a gasoline engine).

I will wait till tax refund and order from this company. Unless I find them cheaper! This kit will allow very quick install/cleaning without having to remove from the hose every time. I'm sure with a new auto very little debris will be caught if the coolant system is well maintained. To me it will be just simple preventive maintenance!

Just add a small bottle of RMI-25 & my cooling system will be golden!

V12 Performance: Tefba Cooling System Filters

I would really like to install a spin on coolant filter kit but I have no idea where the ideal place would be to plumb one in at.

This rascal was just delivered! Outstanding quality and fit/finish is perfect!
It will be nice to be able to observe the condition/level of my coolant without have to mess with frogging dipstick. I will install it tomorrow!

One thing I noticed was there was no level marks. I guess I will make my own about what I figure is half full.

OK did the install this morning.
install went very smooth and fast.
The only modification I had to do was to trim the two support clips that slide into the slots that's in the front of the truck.
Actually I just got my pocket knife and made the slots a little bigger so the two clips can slide into down into them. If that makes any sense?

Anyhow I do believe this is a very beneficial modification because now all I have to do is pop my hood and look down through the big hole where the hood latch is and I can visually see the level in my coolant tank now.
If it is dark outside you might have to have a flashlight to shine down at the tank itself.

Here are a few pics after the install.

The first pic is looking down through the somewhat large hole where the hood latches looking back at the tank.
I am very satisfied with my $32 investment. I filled the tank close to halfway with a 60\40 mix of PGL.

Next will be the Tefba inline coolant filter install.

It's a real important investment, but one we should never have to make like the lug nuts. Ram should be paying attention, real disappointed with much of their decisions.

Also just added 5oz of RMI-25 to radiator.
Ready for Winter! Will add other 5oz in spring.

Only now wish I had a Level & a set of A/T tires!

Doing my flush finally and the manual says 16 qts. Is that 16 total for the system is 8 anti freeze and 8 water? Or 16 anti freeze only and 16 water?

I believe 2013 use OAT. It is available in 50% or 100% strengths. Make sure you know which one you are buying. The 100% is cheaper because you mix it yourself. And it is NOT cheap! You want 8 qts. of 100% OAT and 8 qts. of distilled water OR 16 qts. of 50% OAT.

You gonna at least put 8 gallons of distilled and drive around for a flush prior?

I meant 4 gallons twice as a flush, but whatever. I think the capacity is 4 gallons.
