I love engine masters! Those are quite surprising results, maybe I will look into an efan sometime soon

What's a good brand efan to run? And how much does it cost to upgrade to these?

just remember your ram has a clutch fan so you only lose 14 hp not 30hp

Oem mopar fan is best...when I installed mine I also did the ATI dampener pulley and 180 stat...this video is proof that these mods add horsepower and torque. Highly recommend it!!! Below is a great thread where many including myself have shared part #s and pics. The oem mopar fan bolted right up in my 13 and was plug and play....it's also very quiet! With hemifever tuning truck runs at 185 consistently!:roflsquared:

I have an 03, still a good choice? I've been looking for an old mark viii fan, summit also sells a dorman replacement fan. Is that any good?

Not very familiar with that e-fan conversion on our Hemis - so maybe a dumb question...
Will the e-fan replace the ac fan?
And why not use that existing ac fan? I mean it's already there...

My understanding is the hemi's already have the full size efan that the V6 gets plus the clutch fan. With the 180 thermostat and a tune to lower the efan settings, you can run with just the efan no problem (unless your constantly towing heavy loads?). I did this and my coolant temp stays 186-188

The e-fan replaces the large clutch fan on the front of the engine. The video in the op shows that the fan is causing approx a 15hp loss where an electric fan may lose a hp or two.

On the newer trucks having only 2 wires to the AC fan is it possible to do this still or would one have to get a controller and wire it in for a low speed and tie the AC in on the high side with the controller?

So much I understood.
My question was more - doing the e-fan conversion and getting rid of the clutch fan, will the e-fan replace the ac fan and if so why not just use the (already built in) ac fan. Not efficient enough?

Just get a tuner with a custom tune and run the AC fan with a 180 stat. Money is way better spent that way...

Some do...look in the thread I posted pics of the 2 side by side....I went with the v6 fan because it comes with a small plastic shroud as well as a clip to lock in upper hose. I went with the oem fan some do the ttyc or doorman...they are cheaper but the oem in my opinion is way to go!

Guess this is one of the next things I'll do. Give me a reason to spend money elsewhere while I decide on a supercharger. Pretty good info though
