And lets face it...if I was coming to your house to give you a bid on work, i think youd rather see me pull up in a new vehicle, instead of a oil leaking rust bucket. I take pride in what I do and what I drive. :)

i definitely do not agree with this logic. some of the most honest contractors ive dealt with drove older trucks/vans, albeit well taken care of. its usually the guy that pulls up in the shiny brand new truck thats looking to take you to the cleaners. im sure its not always the case, but im not about to trust somebody more because he has a nice vehicle.

:) Mopar uses a Chrysler WEB program that records EVERYTHING YOU DO/HAVE DONE at a dealer ANYWHERE, so

As long as your under the initial WARRANTY--everything you use on the RAM SHOULD be MOPAR and if safety/suspension is concerned--should be installed by A or your dealer-

Isn't that an expensive PITA ??

YUP

Just remember that any WARRANTY problems you and dealer have, can be a long drawn out PITA, so

Use your dealer as much as you can/need to--it's in your favor

Good luck

The dealership that I purchased my Ram from is 2 1/2 hours away so just going to them for every tom/****/harry service is not happening!

Local dealership puts me on the bottom of the list for everything since I didn't by from them.

I'm not the DrPhil or Oprah type so I leave the drama fest to them.

Thus for all my preventive maintenance habits and do the service myself. Always done right & at my convenience not theirs.
Warranty is up in may so nothing will change.

If I was only keeping my Ram for 1-4 years I would only drive it & put gas in it.

My Ram will be at my side well beyond my retirement years unless this yuppie transfer case leaves me or my family stranded/stuck in a snow/ice storm! Then she will find herself being traded in. I have a lot of faith in her at this time but we all know faith is like a Mirror! It can be broke & shattered in a split second!

For me it's really quite simple. I have a 2013 Ram that I bought brand new. I live 2.5 hours from where I bought it, but bought the Lifetime Maximum Care Warranty through the dealer. I use the local dealer for everything but oil changes. I do my oil changes at dealers throughout my area as I do mystery shopping as a side job and get paid for my oil changes at Dodge dealers. Every single thing ever done to my vehicle has been by a dealer. If anything happens, it's under warranty for life, and I'll make Chrysler fix it. I don't care what the dealer puts in, as it's on them this way.
