Diablo T1000 tuner for a 2011 Ram 1500 4.7 unlock worth it?

I have a 2011 ram 1500 4.7 quad cab leveled on 33x12.5x18 mud grapplers. It has a K&N cold air intake and Flowmaster 40 series muffler with a single outlet 5" exhaust pipe. When I bought the truck used last year, there was a Diablo T1000 tuner that came with the truck but it is locked. Is it the $179 to get it unlocked and use it on my truck? I have no experience with programmers. i wont be doing anything crazy to the truck like smoking the tires of anything. Just wondering if performance gains would be noticeable?

I would unlock it. It has lots of nice features, bump up the shift points to help get those big tires moving, set your AC fan on to help keep engine temps down, turn off MDS, and many other options. Money well spent in my opinion.

I agree with HammerHead. You can't get a new tuner for that price and the canned tunes are not bad.

Eventually you may want to get a custom tune (they really really work well) and having the tuner unlocked and ready to log and load will be a good thing.
