Anybody know of good direct fit muffler that is not over the top but has more rumble then stock and has very little or no drone. I would rather stay stock then have drone or helicopter sound during MDS.

I have the mufflex 18". It's somewhat loud on acceleration, but mellows down when you back off of it. The drone does exist, but I don't think it's bad in the cab really. If you want zero done then I would stay away from the 18" muffler or purchase their drone elimination pipe.

Thanks. How hard is the elimination pipe to install?

I would go with the 24" Mufflex kit. Its a simple clamp on system with no drone. Has a deep tone to it without being overpowering.

Mufflex 24" Magnaflow Dual Exhaust 09-Up Ram 1500 5.7L Hemi

x 2...

I have the 24" Magnaflow and it's very nice at start up and WOT yet quiets right down at highway speed with zero drone. Wife is happy with it and doesn't bother the kids...happy wife happy life!

I bought a 22" magnaflow #12588 on Amazon for $125 and had my local Midas weld it in place for $100 bucks. It sounds awesome. It has a mildly pleasant rumble at idle but really roars when accelerating. It's not overly load and has no drone when cruising. It will turn heads when you get on it, but you wont wake up the neighbors either...

I recommend mufflex 14".
$99 bucks and it bolts on. Can't get much more straight through than that either.

American v8s are supposed to sound like v8s, you know the sound I'm sure. I'll likely never buy newer again, more chance of buying OLDER haha. No GPS, Bluetooth or government tracking....

Carven Exhaust Progressive series is a good direct replacement muffler , I chose the louder Competitor Series from Carven , it's definitely LOUDER lol.

Here's a link to my install of the Caven Competitor series.

Hope this helps !

Can't speak for the less loud progressive series , but the Competitor series has very little drone imo and even when in the ( droan zone ) it still has an exhaust cadence.

Check out this link , some good discussion throughout the thread .

Good call on the link. Very good summary on the Carven. I think it is my front runner now after reading your personal experience with it. Has an awesome sound.
