So I'm dropping off my 2014 ram 1500 for what sounds like the typical broken/ cracked exhaust manifold bolts. Truck has 85K on it and other than a fuel pump has been pretty good so far. From what the service manager said it should be covered under the 5 year/100K miles powertrain warranty. Hope it's covered lol

Hi Max,

As long as your powertrain warranty is in effect and the repair would be covered under warranty, you should be ok. Let me know if you need any additional follow up with the dealership.

The bolts have been updated a few times by now. We "usually" don't see this issue on trucks 2013+. I've seen a couple 2014s with broken bolts but the vast majority seem to be 2012 and older.

Dropped off this morning $140 charge if it's not covered just to inspect it. Those bolts better be broken/cracked lol I'll keep you all posted when they call later.

Well Good news! They are replacing all the bolts/studs as well as both exhaust manifolds. Should be done later today. All covered under the powertrain warranty. So glad I didn't have to pay for this repair as it is not in my budget right now.

Thank you for the offer Kori, glad I did not need your help but also glad I had the option if needed for assistance.

If it wasn't covered I was going to look in to getting headers like tantore suggested. I did start looking in to them the day I dropped off the truck before they called me about it being covered. I was stressing as I need my truck back lol

cheap factory crap, replaced by more cheap factory crap. thats dodge for ya !

The problem is the cheap manifolds with restrictive flow causing extreme heat buildup. whoever designed those POS shout be shot.

This sucks for all of us that are outside of our factory warranty, but still have the same crappy parts and design to have to deal with. It seems to happen to so many of them, I can't figure out why they wouldn't cover it past the warranty time IF it is crappy parts.
