Good morning
Does someone know of a way using the onboard controls on the 2016 ram outdoorsman to shut off the eco mod until i need it. I normally do more city then highway driving.
I hear that with the eco on that i waste more fuel.

Your thoughts

You may have a option in the radio to turn it off or you can either use the +/- gear selection or tow haul will deactivate mds

By eco mode do you mean the green eco light that pops up on your dash? That just means you're driving fuel efficiently. It doesn't do anything to your truck.

Now, if you're talking about MDS (truck drops to 4 cylinders) than do what 1500Ram12 said.

There is an option on mine in the UConnect to disable ECO. I think it just turns off the light though.

This is on the 6 speeds. The 8 speeds it does not. For the 8 speed just hit the - shift button then + up to where it shows 8. Then it will have all 8 gears available with mds off until you shift out of drive.

why would anybody want to delete a fuel saving function?
The MDS saves fuel. it is not even said, that the MDS is activated, when the ECO comes on- but you can eliminate the display in the radio, like already mentioned.
I mean- I like it- and I see, that I can drive that I have the ECO on as long as possible, without being slow. and the truck thanks me with a 21-22mpg. what do I want more?
