Flipping through the EVIC on my new (to me) 2013 this evening and noticed that at 44,081 miles it shows 1596 engine hours and 0 idle hours. Unless I'm completely misunderstanding what idle hours means, how is this possible? In 44k miles and near 1600 hours there isn't a combined total of one hour spent idling?

That definitely seems off to me. My 2015 has 34,879 miles and the evic reads 61 idle hours and 1006 driving hours. I wonder if the previous owner swapped the cluster, or if that would even effect that reading?

Ditto, seems shady. Idle time has to have accumulated by this point, heck even mine has hours on it even though it's 4 years old and just barely is scratching 31,000 miles.

You simply just don't start and drive continuously until you park/stop. Everyone hits stop signs, everyone has some sort of idle time.

*Unless say an engine was factory warrantied??
