This is about my wife's '15 1500 5.7l hemi 2wd.

When I start the truck and put it in gear, right around 10 miles an hour it gets stuck. That's about the best way I can describe it. it stays at the 10mph, but the engine rpm is still increasing. it will go from about 1000 to 1500 and then whatever it is "lets go" and it works fine. It only happens when its first started and it doesn't happen every time.

Has anyone experienced this? I have looked in the forum and haven't found anything yet that is similar to this. Any help would be appreciated.

I have noticed this in both of my 8sp trucks as well...never did this in my 5sp trucks. I think there is a TSB flash that is supposed to fix that, but I have not taken it to the dealership to try that yet.

My truck does this to. Not all the time but it seems to get worse the colder it gets. After that first 1-2 shift it shifts normally.

Unplug the battery. Mine did some funky things similar to this. Unplugged the batt for 10 min and never had the issue since then.

Let it warm up a min before driving, I bet it's just the ecu trying to warm things up. I'm assuming it only does it when it's cold?

Mine has done something like that for a long time but I've always figured it was just because it was cold. I usually try to let my vehicles sit for just a bit after a cold start rather than throwing it in gear and driving.

I wouldn't say all the 8 speeds do that. I have a 14 with 8 speed and hemi and it's never done that as far i can recall. Have had it for 17 months and drive in all types of weather and let it sit in an outdoor airport parking lot 2 weeks at a time (year round) and it's never done that.

Hi awo1aggie,

Sorry to hear about this! If you decide to visit your local dealership I'd be happy to follow up with them for you. Just PM our page with your VIN and contact information if that's the case.

letting it warm up wouldn't be a problem, but she runs with the rescue squad and when she has to go, she doesn't have time to let it warm up. unplugging the battery, its that the same premise as trying to reset the computer?
