Engine Runs Rough at Light Throttle Question
Has anyone else noticed when driving down the road at speeds above 40 with light throttle pressure or with the cruise control on, there is a constant misfire that can be heard from the exhaust? I do not notice it very much with the MDS active with the crappy exhaust note, but when I turn the MDS off by selecting +8 it sounds like the MDS does not shut down all the way. And if I go to +7 or +6, the rpms rise and the misfire noise it still there but it is following the higher engine speed.
I drive on about 15 miles of new roads so I am not hearing the tires thumping on the road surface. And when I am driving at lets say 70 mph, and put the transmission in neutral, the misfire is gone 100%. And if I am stepping on the throttle picking up speed, or setting in the driveway in park and run the engine up and hold the rpms at a constant speed, it will run smooth as silk. It might be a bad MDS solenoid or lifter, but the dealer says at 8000 miles they can't be bad, and could not find any codes. Thanks for any input.
