Looking for a direct replacement for my muffler that will give me a little more sound. Mine is the single side exit behind the rear passenger tire. I can weld it in myself. I don't want to mess with size adapters or really extra sections of pipe. So does anyone know of a good sounding muffler roughly the same length as stock that I can swap in there? Not obnoxiously loud but louder than stock. Thanks fellas!

I have the Mufflex 14" single side exhaust. I would not say it's that loud. Deffentaly not as loud as the website states it is.

At normal speeds it's great, no drone. When you get on it, sounds great! If you didn't want the kit they offer and are willing to put the muffler in yourself I defiantly recommend Magnaflow. I don't have a sound clip however if you want PM me I can send you a video.

As said, Mufflex is the way to go if you want a simple install. Any aftermarket muffler that is louder than stock is going to be shorter than stock, which will require you to add pipe if welding it on. Mufflex has this kit pre fabbed and ready to just bolt in place of your stock muffler. 20 minutes install.

The stock dual exhaust is a direct replacement and has a "sport" version.

I don't see anything for the 5.7 on the mufflex site, just the 6.4. Maybe they are the same?

That's my mistake. I didnt see the 2500 part...just assumed it was a 1500 with the single exhaust. In your case, you would need to either go with a full cat back for a bolt on install or just weld a new replacement muffler on the truck. Mufflex only offers the clamp on kits for the 1500's and 2500/3500 6.4 trucks.

the '17 2500 I just rented to get me by until my 1500 was fixed had the 5.7. Bigger, heavier truck and it pulled like a champ. Must have a different fuel map and am sure it was built without MDS. We pulled our 2-horse steel trailer with 2 horses and full of tack and it felt every bit as quick as my lighter 1500 pulling the same load. I was quite impressed actually.

That's what mine is, and that's actually the same as what I pull with mine. Does just fine for me. And yeah the 2500 5.7 does not have the MDS.
