I have a 2017 SLT with the single side exit exhaust. I would like to keep this because I tow with my vehicle and like the tailpipe location. That being said, I want more sound.

Can I just bolt on a new muffler and get more sound? I was considering just ordering a louder muffler like the Magnaflow magnapack or flowmaster super 40. Any other recommendations? Looking for good exterior sound but not a crazy amount inside the truck.

18" Magnaflow. Sounds great outside but quiet while cruising down the interstate.

I love magnaflow. But I like 14 inch. It's not too loud

The new site sponsor Got Exhaust has a full dual single side out kit. Worth looking at.

Cant go wrong with the bolt on Mufflex kits. They are a fraction of the price of a full cat back system, and they clamp on in minutes. I run the Mufflex 14" Dual exhaust setup on my 2015, but the single exhaust setup bolts up just as easy.

I have heard these mufflex units rust out very quickly when run on salted roads

They are 409 stainless Magnaflow mufflers and 409 stainless piping...same material as your stock exhaust. Only way you are going to get better than that is by buying 1 of the higher end $1000 catback exhaust systems.

I have the mufflex 18" and live up in Fairbanks where we salt/brine and gravel in the winter. No rust at all and holding up fantastic.
Sounds good, wish it was louder but the neighbors and girlfriend wish it was a tad more quiet [emoji19]
