Has anyone taken the power robbing clutch fan off the front of the 2016 2500 6.4 hemi and put an electric fan on it yet? I find them so barbaric and wasteful. If anyone has replaced it what scfm fan did you use a pusher or puller? Did you need to get a tune as your motor would be turning easier without that drag of the stone age fan?

wait a minute. a ram engineer asking us dummies what electric fan to use :roflsquared:. you have 410hp (supposedly). can you really tell if a few ponies are missing. maybe the clutch has malfunctioned and is stuck engaged. seems to be sort of a common problem on the 6.4

Barbaric and wasteful? You're looking at maybe 5 hp while it's engaged. The alternator drags down more power than the fan 80% of the time. Better take them both off and use a solar panel on the roof (I'm being painfully sarcastic).

Not to mention the dozen other posts that already address this. A common thing is to take the fan off, and use a lower temperature thermostat with a tune. May make 10
horses more.

Thank you for the sarcastic and pretentious answers. Worthless.

I have a ram and I'm an engineer guess I should have made that more clear.

Wasn't a complaint it was a statement of poor design. However I have taken care of the issue by removing it.

I told you everything you needed to know. There's several threads covering removing the fan and using and electric one in it's place. People do this, and a lower temp thermostat with a tune to make up some power.

What a waste of time on here with some folks who don't READ... most all of the posts on 5.7 motors original post was for the 6.4... two different worlds. I can speak for the 5.7 totally worth the delete and running electric haven't had a problem yet...also motor looks much cleaner.

i cant wait until the factory warranty is up on my tradesman 6.4

the first thing im going to do is ditch the clutch fan

i have gone through 2 clutches in 8200 miles ( thankfully you can relpace them in a few minutes in the driveway )

in my o , the fan at full lock up is way more than a few horses. the truck is a dog when its stuck on. plus it sounds like a giant vacum cleaner in that condition.

happy october comrades!

I agree! I also did the ATI pulley and dampener which really helps at higher rpms.
