I asked ram cares if fanclutch would be a warrentable item, they weren't sure. Couldn't get ahold of my dealer, so coming to you guys...

My fan only ever on after a cold start then it turns off. And when climbing grades, never hear the fan click on. Going up old priest grade, going to yosemite last summer, my coolant temp climbed and climber to about 240* before I crested the grade. Which leads me to belive it's bad, if they can warranty it, be super stoked.

Should fall under the powertrain warranty.

I will say this, they are not gonna duplicate your towing scenario to look at this. So be prepared for them to not see your problem.

This is where knowing and having a good relationship with your dealer comes in handy.
If you came to me and explained just what you wrote here, I would have no problem installing a new one under warranty.
Come in with a chip on your shoulder and act like a *******, "couldn't duplicate concern, no problem found"

Way easier to just remove it. The e fan is plug and play. 10 minute install max.

Not 100% on our clutch fans but the older ones I dealt with would leak the clutch oil out as they failed, which was visible on the hood insulation in a distinct pattern. You can grab a fin and see how the fan spins there should be some resistance.
