Anyone use the Flex a lite 180 efan to replace the clutch fan in a 2013 ram 1500, 4x4. I currently have the 180degree tstat,, coolant twml stays steady at 185 all the time. Never varies. I think this kit has temp probe and controller.

I thought about the flexalite for my third gen, But seemed like quite a bit of money for nominal gains in reduced parasite drag. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there already an e fan on you truck in addition to the clutch fan? Or if there isnt, isn't the chrysler 3.6 e fan an option?

I think yes to both, not sure existing fan is strong enough to delete clutch fan, not sure about price for mopar v6 fan. Not sure it even makes sense to delete clutch fan to begin with.

Do a search on here. Hemi guys delete the clutch fan regularly. I forget if you need to adjust the on/off settings for the e fan in the ecm. But regardless yes it can be deleted.

You will be fine running the efan on the truck as long as you change the settings for it. At 100 degree in town I see temps around 190-195 and on the highway it stays around 185 unless pulling a hill then the highest I saw it was around 200 but once over the hill it went straight down. I would say try it with the oem fan and if it isn't enough then get the V6 fan or flexalite.

What's default temp for oem fan. I do not have tune, need tuner to lower temp, right? I have 180deg tstat, temp stays rock solid 185, regardless of temp outside, heat or ac on.

Default is around 230 I think. I would not recommend running without clutch fan without changing the efan setting.

Yes, it probable time to get a tuner. The flexa lite fan with controller is cheaper then tuner, but if oem fan has enough cfm to cool without clutch fan, then I can save the money from fan, buy a tuner and tweak settings on fan. Will tuner change anything else, like fogs on with hi beams? Truck is basically stock, just deleted resonator, and drop in filter, air box mod. Nothing else done to it yet. If I get tuner, I will probable feel need to get vararam and catback, maybe throttle body... Where to stop, then new headers and ypipe, cam.... Never stops.
