Front drive shaft

2017 2500 4x4. Just greased the front drive shaft First the first time, I can twist the shaft by hand, park, 2 wheel drive. I could not on my 2005, what has changed?

^ Havent played with it enough or done he research to find out why- But ya it spins freely. Must be a oil changing type of day, bout to go shopping, when we get back gonna change oil and greese that damn fitting.

Ya it’s normal. They have a front axle disconnect now so that’s why you can turn the front driveshaft. Your 2005 didn’t have a front axle disconnect if it was 2500/3500..

Had to jack the tire off the ground on the old one, much easier. Still not sure why these did not put a standard Zerk on the joint.
