Default Having misfire need help
I have a 2012 1500 5.7

I'm throwing code P0302, which is a misfire in cylinder 2. My truck has a noticeable ticking louder than usual hemi tick. I have 98,400 miles on it. I swapped 2 of the coil packs to see if it was the coil and nothing. Next i changed the plugs and gapped them to .044-.045 and still nothing.

Anyone ever have this issue? Any suggestions on what to try next?

may have dropped a valve which can take out the cam. far as i know, the only way to be sure is to open up the engine and take a look.

Default Same Problem here
I have the same issue on my 2010 ram 1500 5.7 Hemi
I have tried: Spark plugs, coil pack, fuel injector, throttle body with throttle position sensor (one part), cam position sensor, intake air temp sensor. And still hesitating from a stop and check engine kicks at about 3000 RPMs.

Let me know if you figure this out and I will do the same. Have it going in for a look in a few days as I have exhausted almost everything I can try.

It almost sounds like you have a broken valve spring.
Or a bad solenoid that operates the MDS lifter.

Trace the wiring back to the PCM. look carefully for any breaks or chaffing.
Check the connector at the PCM and see if the pin is backed out etc. check from the backside where the wire goes in as well.

keep it simple and eliminate all possibilities before you get inside the engine.

If you are able to clear the check engine light, does it come right back on when you start the truck? If does then, that is most likely and electrical problem. By reading everything you said you have done, it sounds like a mechanical skip, unfortunately. I would do a compression test. What does the noise exactly sound like?

Sorry I haven't updated guys but turns out it was a bad lifter and it messed up the cam...I had all lifters and cam replaced

I was gonna just upgrade the cam and lifters since I had to spend the money but luckily I made a call first and turns out I had 3 months left on warranty...lucky me right lol
