So looking at doing some more bolt ons with some money I got coming in.

I'm adding the vararam, already have a tuner.

So what's the better option, header + y pipe or tq convertor plus big pan?

Tq converter if you have the choice all day long with the 6 speed trans.

I have the 5speed, and I'll need a custom tune for it as well correct?

I just put that on mine about a month ago. They are pretty nice and bolted right up. There is a nice power gain that can be felt at the higher rpm range but there is also a power loss down low. I am going to be doing gears and a torque converter to get that power back. And have plans for a cam in the future so that will help too. But unless you have plans for all that, I would not recommend the jba long tubes. Find something with smaller primary tubes and you will likely be better off.

In the future I do have plans for all that. I want to be full bolt on with the option of cam or nitrous. But right now what would be the better option with the vararam being installed later this month. Tq convertor or headers? Did you do y pipe or true dual?

Cool. Kind of the same plans I have for mine. I have the vararam and really like it. I did the jba y-pipe so that the install was easy. I would probably go with the headers first. I am not real sure what is to be gained by a higher stall converter on a mostly stock truck. Unless you race it and need to launch better, then converter first. If you have plans for both, you probably can't go wrong either way.

It's about the same price for both mods in the end, so kinds depends. I've heard tons of people say tq convertor was their best mod

TC first. Your ARH long tubes are going to cost about $1500-$1750 at least and that's not installed. Your TC cost about $500-$600 + install. I'd suggest you talk to Matt at Moe's Performance before you get a TC to isure you get the right stall for your purposes.
