How many have upgraded your TB?

Was considering a throttle body upgrade in addition to a VaraRam CAI in hopes of improving the overall HP/MPG efficiency.
How many have upgraded the TB and has it really made a worthy improvement?

Do you have a tuner yet? Id get a tuner before PTB. PTB wont increase mileage. If you are looking to increase mileage, lighten up your foot.

Waiting on the tuner until I've added a few upgrades. As for my foot, if I lighten it up any more I'll stop moving.

A tuner is the best bang for your buck mod along with a custom tune for it (check out Moes Performance). You wont see any gains greater than going with gears or a converter.

Like doz said, jump on the tuner first before adding the throttle body. On trucks with stock tuning, we are seeing about 8-10hp from the throttle body. With the tuner and other basic bolt-ons, we have seen up to 17hp from the throttle body. Basically, the more you have done to the truck, the more you will gain from the TB.

With these trucks not having a MAF sensor, a retune is not required if you add the throttle body afterwards.

A PTB is around $350 or so. For that money, Id save up and purchase headers before a PTB. You will see much more from headers than a PTB.

A PTB may make additional power, but you'll never get your $350 back in fuel savings.
