IF there was a good Manual Trans available in the new trucks...

Would you buy one?

If they put out a truck with a manual transmission that could reliably hold up to 600 horses and lb ft torque, and shifted reasonably quickly; That's the only thing that would make me sell my truck.

I bought a built T56 out of an SRT10 that's been sitting in my shop for almost 2 years. I may take a stab at it one day.

What all would need to be done/ how hard do you think it would be to do that? I have thought about going this route whenever my tranny blows/ if it ever blows.

I don't see physically bolting it in as an issue...there's even a clutch knock out plate in the firewall. There were no manual trucks to flash the ECM to though...that's the part I haven't even looked at yet. Most auto to manual swaps need the ECM set for a manual...maybe we can work around it but I honestly don't know at this point.

Forgive my ignorance on the subject.... Would a CMR tuner not be able to tune/ turn off/ bypass the automatic transmission portion of the cpu to enable the manual to work?

Don't know much on the subject, so any explanation/ knowledge shared is definitely appreciated.

It's the only way I'll go supercharged, right now I'm still to afraid to add a ported throttle body and short tubes, and a tuner on the stock tranny.

I'd trade mine in a heartbeat for a stick in a Hemi truck

Nope, like having 1 automatic in the house. Everything else I have is a stick.

If I could afford it as a toy sure. But as a daily driver I'll stick with an automatic.
