So like the title says I am looking for my next performance mod. I am a little bit torn and hoping that maybe someone can tell me which mod did the most for them. There is three things I am considering, Headers, Camshaft, or 3.92 gears.

I have a 2013 express 5.7 with k&n intake and diablo with hemifever tune. Labor will be free as I can do most the work myself or have someone who can help. I will also be doing all these eventually but just wondering what to do first. :naughty:

Are you going to primarily use your truck as a daily driver or are you going to drag it every weekend?

I say put it towards LT headers. My thought process is wait on cam/heads until you know you're not doing any major mods, or done with them. Why spend money on a major engine mod that may not play well with a future one?

3.92's, but I would go up to 4:10's if I was bothering to upgrade.

gearing would be the most bang for the buck. agree with above, go 4:10 ratio.

I should have said that it will be mostly just street driven and never go to a track. Would 4.10s be overkill?

just saw you have a 2004, no 4:10 would not be overkill imo. if you can swing it, you might want add LSD at the same time.

I'd skip the headers for now and go with 4.10 Gears and a higher stall tq converter. You can have both of these for right at $1000, which leaves $200 for the doctor to wipe the sh*t eating grin off your face every time you hit the go pedal.

What about 4.10 gears and a LSD? Also are 4.10 any different to install than 3.92's

Been thinking bout swapping my 3.92s to 4.10 just don't know if the difference will be worth it.

^^^^ You will probably not see much of a difference, at least not enough to justify the cost, unless you can do the work yourself.

Kinda what i was thinking. Yes I can do the work myself but I'd rather pay someone else to do that. Rear end would be easy. Front end is what I hate messing with. Setting pre load and shimming bearings and re tightening them damn crush washers suck.

I agree with Jay. Going from 3.92 to 4.10 is such a minimal increase that you wont feel enough change to justify the time and money for that swap.

You definitely want to have an LSD i you run 4.10's and a converter. The install is the exact same for the 3.92's or the 4.10's, and labor cost should be the same if adding the LSD because that has to come out to install your new gears anyway. I would definitely consider adding those upgrades at the same time.

You defiantly want a LSD if you run a 3:92 and a converter.
