So been reading quite a few comments on changing the thermostat to a 180 been wanting to do the swap but my question is do i require a tuner or programmer for this work properly? Normal engine temp at 70mph is about 209-210 engine oil about 222 degreese. I have a 2015 ram 1500 5.7L (k&n cold air intake, throttle body spacer and a y pipe)

You don't need a tuner to use this but you will get the most out of it if you have a tuner. The T-stat will open sooner and begin flowing through the radiator at ~180* but your stock fan setting will remain the same. You will likely see a decrease in engine temps at highway speeds when the fan is rarely on but you most likely won't see any difference in mixed/city driving or towing. If you had a tuner you could adjust your fan settings to turn on sooner and that's when you'd see the lower temps across all the driving ranges.

Diablosport, but beware, it's not cheap since you have to have your PCM altered to do ANY tuning on the 2015+.

The 15's and 16's PCM is locked at the factory. You have to either purchase another PCM and have it tuned or purchase a PCM from Moe's Performance or Hemifever that already has the tune included. You can then have a tuned PCM and your stock PCM to put on your truck if you need to take it in to the dealership for any work. Before you only had to purchase the tuner and install the tune in your existing PCM.

make sure you have plenty of money when you make that call those PCM's and tuners are pricey but to me it was worth it some people not so much but hey it's only money. bet youve never seen a Wells Fargo truck in a funeral possession have ya?

You also get updates for your tune, and custom tuning when you go through Moe's. So if you add or remove performance items you can get an updated tune
