Thinking of going with the Legmaker carbon fiber MID tube with a drop in k&n filter in the OEM air box instead of a name brand CAI. I know people are saying that it's over priced for just an intake tube but the way I see it is $200 for the tube and $60 for the filter your in it for $260. The OEM box already pulls cold air. So there is your complete intake kit. S&B and Volant are closed box cold air intakes for $300-$400. Even a k&N is close to $300 and it is basically a short ram kit. Just a thought.

$200 is a lot for negligible gains.

Correct me if I'm wrong but considering this is not a MAF controlled engine, a CAI won't net really anything.

No, I think it's the opposite. The MAF gets screwed up because it can't keep the fuel to air ratio right because of all the air passing over it.

I know CAIs aren't going to give me much but throttle response but I plan on doing an exhaust and maybe a ported throttle body and I think all three together should give me a little something extra plus a better sound.

I just wish there was a cheap mid tube like from all the other cais instead of fiberglass. I don't want to relocate the sensor.

I believe the Legmaker comes with an extension for the sensor

Anybody out there have the Legmaker Mid tube? And how do you like it? Would like to get a couple more reviews before I purchase.

Talked to Chris from Legmaker and he was very helpful with what I was looking for but would like to hear from a customer not just the salesman.

I told him I wanted to keep more of a stock look and he said that the Legmaker makes a nice clean stock look. He agreed about the OEM box being a good cold air intake and that the K&N drop in filter (I just bought) would pair nicely with the Legmaker. Said that the carbon fiber 4" tube is the best at deterring heat soak and very free flowing over stock tube. They don't show performance gains on the site but he told me the Legmaker would give 5 to 8 rwhp alone and with the K&N high flow filter should be more.

I'm guessing 10 or 11 maybe with the K&N.

Thats about a 2-3% gain in power....Dont expect to be able to feel that type of gain.

Lol. I get it man. Look at past posts.Don't expect to feel anything out of any CAI. But I plan on doing more and it will help.At least he was honest about gains unlike some of these manufacturers saying you will see 30hp increase.

I had one of these. First off, no matter what they tell you, it does not fit with the engine cover in place. Gains...nothing felt at all. Ended up selling it for 50 bucks. Lesson learned.

Did you stay stock or go with an actual full CAI? If so which do you prefer?

I ended up going with a Volant. Liked it a lot.
