How do you guys like your LSD's? I don't do any "real" off-roading, just driving out to the pond or to my tree stand, so it only comes in handy during slippery conditions. I like the LSD over the Locker when driving though ice and snow. Do they hold up well? Have you guys had good luck with them???

My next truck will be a 2017 Ram 3500 SRW Diesel 4x4 Crew cab, short box.

The 2500 and up probably has a torsen style gear rear end (AAM Track rite helical/worm gear). The 1500 has the corporate and typical clutch style anti-spin. They operate a bit different. The 1500 anti-spin works well on the street, perhaps somewhat unpredictable off road. The gear diff works smoother, but you get no traction if one wheel is off the ground, using a little brake provides enough resistance to get it to lock in.

i have a 02 2500 cummins long bed quad cab with open differential ( i bought it long time ago off the lot )

i also have a 16 2500 long bed crew cab.

both trucks have bfg k02 s on them

the difference between the open and limited slip is night and day

old truck is an about as good as a mustang gt in the snow unless its in 4 by

new truck crawls all over the place in 2 wheel drive with little effort

i do have a locker in an old k5 blazer and its a death trap in the snow/ice when negotiating curves.

cheers comrades!

Really ???

I've had a locker in 2 different cherokees now, and also in a Ramcharger......no issues on ice/snow/water/mud..........you just have to realize what you are driving on and drive accordingly.

I have a 1500 with the limited slip and wouldn't have a 2WD without it. Had it on my 2010 F150 too and it got through snow pretty well.

My second truck with LSD, I wouldn't order a build without it. Great option for a small price.

I love mine, the first year I had on open rear end and it was a nightmare in any kind of snow, (would get get stuck anywhere anytime), put it a LSD and no problems at all last winter and we had more snow last winter than we had had in 25 years here in Boise, with the stock Goodyear tires.

Love my LSD, one of my best decisions yet. Did 410's and LSD at the same time. Just take a look at my Avatar pic, that was my first patch testing it:happy107:
Made my 0-60 feel real good.

Better than nothing. Prefer an e-locker, but the lsd was a $495 option. Worth it even if you plan on replacing it later.
