Looking for a new muffler. Was stuck on flowmaster or magnaflow but I think I'm sold on magnaflow now. Just not sure between 14" and 18". How loud is the 14"? Will it tick off neighbors in the morning or be annoying on the highway? I want a deep aggressive rumble, I don't want a crazy loud noise like a straight through.

The 18 will have a nice deep rumble and 14 will be loud and raspy

The 14 is pretty loud, but not as loud as you may think. Especially with the resonators in place. I went with the 24", but I drive 95% highway with my truck and can NOT stand drone. Plus, when MDS kicks on it's pretty horrible sounding with the smaller mufflers. Honestly, the smaller muffler gives you more sound, not more HP so keep that in mind.

Mufflers in general are for sound, not performance.
Sure you'll get 4-10 HP, but over a 395 base, you won't feel that. You'll hear it.

That being said, I still almost every day wish I had gone with the 14" to HEAR it more.

The 14" isn't that loud. Are you hammering on it through the neighborhood? If not, go with it. I personally want to hear my young children in the truck without them yelling which is one of the reasons I went with the 24. I like a nice deep rumble. My G8 is my go fast, loud car! ;)

I went with the 14" and the loadest part in the neighborhood is the initial start but idles pretty low, aggressive when you mash the pedal. I recommend the 14 if your looking for aggressive.

I would say 18 if you're worried about tickin' off the neighbors. I have the 18 on mine and it's pretty darn loud. Gets louder once it's broken in too. I live in a neighborhood with alot of close houses and I'm very very glad I didn't get the 14 because I think I would have made too much of a nuisance. The 18 gives off plenty of noise for me.

I have the 14" on mine and left the resonators on...its honestly not as loud as youd think...I also have ARH which woke it up a lot...depending on how I like it after I drive it around a while I might take the resonators off and ill eventually get an E-cutout...just gotta convince the wife to let me spend more money on the truck haha so far this deployment im just past 5 Grand

I have the 36" Magnaflow with pipes dumped at the pan and get compliments not complaints all of the time. Good luck...
