From what I've experienced these trucks like the copper plugs over the more expensive and longer lasting ones. So perhaps that's why they say change them at 30K miles, as the copper plugs don't usually last as long.

Champion, or NKG copper plugs is what most guys recommend. You shouldn't have a single problem with them if you change them at the recommended intervals. The truks don't seem to take well to any other kind, seen alot of problems. Guess there's a reason they come from the factory with them.

EDIT: For some reason my link keeps going to the 3.7L options, instead of what I selected (the 5.7L plug options) so you'll have to change that.

CHAMPION Part # 446 $1.80 per plug x 16 = $28.80

or

NGK Part # 92174 $3.79 per plug x 16 = $60.64

the copper plugs don't last as long. Good thing is the champions can be had for cheap so if you do the change yourself it not bad at all
