Have you done a leak down test? Could have a valve not sealing. Also it may have are the cam, caused by a bad lifter, it’s somewhat common.

I’d do a leak down test first, and if ok, I’d be pulling the valve cover off.

There are a lot of variables...Is your check engine light coming on for the misfire or is someone using a scanner and seeing that the skip is on that cylinder? If you're getting a light, and it comes on fairly quickly after clearing, then it is most likely an electrical issue. If you're not getting a light or it takes a long time to come on, then it is, most likely, a mechanical skip. These engines have always been good, for the most part. If you do not beat the living **** out of it, change your oil, take care of it, etc...then I'm assuming that it is just a stupid electrical issue. Was your compression good?

My 2013 ram 1500 broke a valve spring on cylinder #5. I was getting P0300 & P0305 misfire codes. 41,000 miles. It sounded AWEFUL. I just got it back yesterday, covered under 5/60,000 powertrain warranty
